Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join their client's team in Cary, North Carolina. This role is designed for a professional who is eager to contribute to a leading construction firm by preparing precise and competitive estimates that influence project success.

Responsibilities

Estimator - Commercial Construction

The estimator role is crucial in developing accurate bids that open doors to new opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare accurate, competitive estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and scopes to identify risks and opportunities.
• Develop quantity takeoffs, pricing, and bid strategies that help win work.
• Collaborate with preconstruction, operations, and leadership to align scope, schedule, and cost.
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor bids.
• Identify value-engineering opportunities without compromising quality or performance.
• Maintain discipline under fast-paced deadlines and multiple concurrent pursuits.
• Stand behind your numbers-before, during, and after bid day.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

• 3-7 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
• Background with a General Contractor is required (not subcontractor-only experience).
• Strong grasp of construction means and methods.
• Sharp analytical and quantitative skills.
• Confidence, speed, and accuracy under pressure.
• A competitive mindset with a strong instinct for strategy and risk.
• Proficiency with estimating software, Excel, and takeoff tools.
• Clear communicator who collaborates well with high-performing teams.

Additional Details

The salary for this position ranges from $75,000 to $90,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
